21 As a mother and educator, I am always striving to provide the best environment and education for children. Charlotte Prep is exactly that! When my husband and I toured Charlotte Prep, I knew that it would be a great place for our three children. Not only did I want my children to benefit from the wonderful Montessori approach to education but as a teacher I, too, wanted to be a part of this community. I am grateful and honored to become a teacher at Charlotte Prep. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement from Wright State University in Ohio and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently working on my Montessori certification through the North American Montessori Center. My experience includes 7 years teaching primary education in Charlotte County and I have also been a Junior High cheerleading advisor and preschool dance teacher. Our class has been very busy this first quarter and has been focusing on parts of speech, math operations, Geometry and beginning our in-depth continent study of North America. The students have really been enjoying our Lower Elementary STEM challenges on Fridays. Earthworms, density, and figuring out how carbon dioxide work are just a few of the activities they have explored! I am looking forward to a wonderful and fun-filled year! Mrs. Jennifer Deke
