15 Many Charlotte Prep students continue to qualify for the Duke University Talent Identification Program (“Duke TIP”). Duke TIP is a nonprofit organization that supports academically talented students in grades four through twelve. Students qualify for the Duke TIP 4 th – 6 th Grade Talent Search by receiving a score in the 95% percentile or higher on a qualifying exam. We are proud to report that we had 42% of our 4 th – 6 th grade students qualified to participate in Duke TIP. Like the 4 th – 6 th Talent Search, students qualify for the Duke TIP 7 th Grade Talent Search by receiving a grade at or above the 95% on a grade-level standardized test. We are proud to report that we had 50% of our 6 th grade students qualified to participate in Duke TIP. Staff and Classroom Additions Upcoming additions for 2018-2019: • Charlotte Preparatory School has added an Assistant Head of School position. Katie Forbes has been promoted to that position. • A Lower Elementary Classroom has been added to accommodate growing enrollment. • A full-time music teacher for the 2018-19 school year will be added. • A full-time instructional assistant for our 4th and 5th grade classrooms will be added. This allows the existing instructional assistant to focus her work on the middle school students.
