10 Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation Award Grant Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation is a philanthropic organization that supports other non-profits. This foun- dation generously gifted $85,000 to Charlotte Preparatory School in February of 2017. This gift was utilized for upgrading the safety features of the facilities, campus beautification, preparation of a master plan, and marketing, including the hiring of a part time marketing and development employee. The safety upgrades included: the addition of door in the Montessori building foyer; extra safety camera; classroom and exterior locks and keypads; and reconfiguring the safety camera monitors. The campus beautification projects included: resealing blacktop; new blacktop lines; dead trees removal; resurfacing the flagpole area; new tres- passing signs around the school; and interior hallway and bathroom painting in both building. In March of 2018, The Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation made a second donation of $100,000 which was used for student scholarships. End of Year Tax Match Fundraiser In December 2017, Charlotte Preparatory School initiated a final 2017 fundraiser and sought charitable gifts before the new tax law changes. As an incentive for participation, a group of donors provided matching gifts. Included among them are: Mark McGraw, Scott McGraw, Lynne McGraw, Lee McGraw, Van Lupo, Brian McGraw, John and Katherine McGraw. As a result, Charlotte Preparatory School received approximately $40,000 in charitable donations. A portion of these funds was used to pay for a mobile classroom that will be functional for the 2018-19 school year. The mobile classroom will be utilized to provide much needed space as rooms in the existing buildings have been converted to classrooms to accommodate the growing enrollment. The mobile classroom will house the library and computer lab and will provide the space needed for art and music classes, as well as speech, meet- ings and conferences. Giving Partner Challenge-Day of Giving May 1st & 2nd The Day of Giving is a 24 hour online fundraising challenge presented by the Sarasota Community Founda- tion of Sarasota County and strengthened by The Patterson Foundation. Charlotte Preparatory School was se- lected as a participant and raised $24,500 which will be used for future projects.
