Physical Education

Fourth and Fifth grade students have Physical Education at least twice a week. Students are to wear the Charlotte Preparatory School approved physical education uniform.

Physical Education is an integral part of the total education process. It gives students the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and socially through the use of physical activity and games. Physical Education helps students achieve the skills, physical fitness, knowledge, social qualities and attitudes that allow them to develop an optimal quality of life and well-being.

Physical Education supports the broad goals of education by encouraging students to participate in lifelong activities and by giving them the personal living skills that make this possible. This is achieved through the pursuit of skills, gaining knowledge of movement, understanding the effects of physical activity upon the body, feelings of adequacy and mastery, and the development of a personal value system regarding physical activity.

The goal for each student is for them to come away with an appreciation for and knowledge of the various, sports, and the ability to improve their own fitness level and a sense of enjoyment for Physical Education. Some of our class activities include: Basketball, volleyball, soccer, team handball, lacrosse, archery, matball, ultimate Frisbee, flag football, pilo polo/hockey, golf, tennis, dodgeball, and more.
